Short Bio
Rachel Larkum originally trained for a BA Hons in Graphics & Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and then an MA in Animation at The Royal College of Art. Rachel went on to work as a 2D animator in Sydney Australia on children’s TV, then animating on inter-actives for Cartoon Network in London, working on the PowerPuff Girls and Dexters and then working in 3D animation for computer games for Sony Entertainment, London. She has also worked in children’s TV, working in 3D animation for ITV on a live action/3D animated series. Rachel has also worked within the rail industry as a graphic designer/animator, as well as within PR/Design agencies, working with brands such as Canon, producing graphics and motion work.
Channel 4 also screened Rachel’s graduation RCA film in 1995 and her animation work has been shown at various animation festivals around the UK.
Alongside her work in industry, Rachel has over 15 years lecturing in art schools around the UK, teaching animation and graphics at London College of Communication, Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts, Greenwich University, London Southbank University, Edinburgh and Glasgow School of Art. She currently is a lecturer at Cambridge School of Art in Animation and Illustration.
