Jooyoung Oh is a media artist who uses interactive technologies such as games and artificial intelligence chatbots. she has developed her work under two interdisciplinary backgrounds: visual design and engineering. She is interested in the process of human visual perception and studies the simulation of artificial cognitive models, while at the same time constantly asking questions about the limitations of science and technology from her perspective as artist. Since 2017, her work has been selected in major exhibitions such as International Symposium on Electronic Art Juried Exhibition (ISEA2019), 2017 ART+SCIENCE COLLIDE Grand Prize, 2018 Gwangju ACC Residence Selection, Da Vinci Creative Award. In 2019, received first place as IEEE BRAIN WINNER at Ars Electronica. In 2020, her works were selected for the SIGGRAPH ASIA Art Gallery. She has participated in numerous exhibitions including Nam June Paik Art Center, Art Center Nabi, Ilmin Museum of Art, Daejeon Museum of Art, Ungno Lee Museum of Art, Hyundai Motor x New Museum Rhizome Seoul, Beijing Exhibition, Gyeongnam Museum of Art, Arko Art Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Art, etc, and sponserd by NCSOFT and ZER01NE as a creator. For workshop, talk and education, she participated SIGGRAPH SPARK GAME Art(2022) talk serise, Game Kitchen Hong Kong(2022), Seoul Museum of Art’s Artist’s Lunchbox(2022), the Seoul Arts Foundation Convergence Art TA project(2022.03~10). Also she was a invited jury at A.MAZE, Berlin International Art Game Festival. The artist's works have been in the collections of SeMA, Seoul Museum of Art, Kunsan University, and private collections.
