Short Bio
Jiwon Ham is a new media artist from South Korea, currently based in Los Angeles, USA. Before she started her career as an artist, she worked as a motion graphics artist in Seoul (2014-2018), creating media facade animations for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Daegu Hyundai Department Store, and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office. This experience led her to pursue an M.F.A. in Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2020), with a research focus on telling the stories of cities in the form of public media art. This M.F.A. was supported by the Fulbright Program (2018-2021).
Jiwon's work has been exhibited internationally at numerous institutions and new media festivals, including Gwanghwamun Square (Korea), Media Canvas at Seoullo (Korea), Dongdaemun Design Plaza (Korea), Ars Electronica (Austria/Online), Kinomural (Poland), The Wrong No.5 (Spain/Online), ExTV (U.S.), Sight&Sound (Canada/Online), 6018|North (U.S.), and the Korean Cultural Center in the UAE.
