Short Bio
For more than three decades, artist and author Sharon Steuer has explored the merging of traditional and digital painting, drawing, printmaking and collage. In her ongoing “Letters from her Father” series, she creates imaginary worlds of childhood from adult chaos. Images in her “For Our Own Good” series pose taboo questions about medical privacy and genetic surveillance. Sharon’s work appears in many books and magazines and has been exhibited widely, and have been honored with the national Faber Birren Color Award, a Windsor Newton Painting award, and a Connecticut Commission on the Arts Fellowship Grant. Sharon’s painting studio is in San Francisco’s Mission district, though if you ride public transit you may spot her secretly drawing portraits with digital+traditional tools. Sharon is also the author of numerous books and articles including Creative Thinking in Photoshop, and the best-selling series The Adobe Illustrator WOW! Books, which has twice received the Benjamin Franklin award for best computer book. She is also a regular contributor to the graphic professionals' online magazine CreativePro.com.

It's great to talk with you.
Thanks for your thoughtful email.
Best wishes,

As you are one of the leading experts on Adobe Illustrator (Sharon wrote the Illustrator Wow! books) I would be interested in your thoughts on Roz Dimon's Digital Manifesto (see Forum posts)
