Short Bio
Deborah Cornell's works in installation and digital media are shown in the US and internationally, with recent solo shows in Dubai, Melbourne, Buenos Aires, Iceland, and Venice, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Her collaborations in sound and vision space use remote technologies, electronic sensing, and networked physical and virtual spaces, often combining new and old media. Her collaborations have been presented at Town Hall, New York, Taipei, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Indiana University, and electronically streamed in many locations. Collections include Hangzhou Academy, Sakimi Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Turku Art Museum, Finland, the Purdue University Museums, the Boston Public Library, the Worcester Museum. Cornell received a Bunting Fellowship from Harvard and artist residencies at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice, Frans Masereel Center, Belgium, and Proyecto ACE, Buenos Aires. She is Chair of Printmaking of the School of Visual Arts at Boston University.
