Short Bio
Atsushi Wakimoto is currently General Manager of Cultural Project Division in CG-ARTS, Director of Japan Media Arts Festival Secretariat and Art Gallery Chair of SIGGRAPH ASIA 2015. From January to February in 2012, he curates the exhibition "MEDIA GEIJUTSU - Flow & Bright -" at the gallery "EYE OF GYRE" in Omotesando, Tokyo, which mainly features 5 Japanese Grand Prize Winners of past Japan Media Arts Festivals. From 2007 to 2010, Manager in Japan Media Arts Festival Secretariat. His activity includes overseas exhibitions of Japan Media Arts Festival in Istanbul (2010); Vienna (2009); Singapore (2008); Shanghai (2007). Since 2011, Part Time Lecture, Faculty of Figurative Expression, Tokyo Kasei University. And From 2007 to 2010, he was Part Time Lecture, Faculty of Environmental Information, Keio University, and from 2003 to 2006, Part Time Lecturer, Faculty of Inter Media Art, Tokyo University of the Arts. From 2003 to 2004, he was Researcher for Digital Archive Project “Mono Project”, Joint Project by National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo University of the Arts, and Iwate Prefectural University. From 1999 to 2000, he took part in the establishment of Digital Archive about Butoh Dancer ‘Hijikata Tatsumi’ at The Keio University Arts Center as researcher.
