Yihui (Cece) Jiao is an animator and fine artist who experiments with new media. She conveys her philosophical and psychological ideas through drawings, moving images, still life objects, music and sound design. Her artistic styles range from expressionistic drawings to impressionistic abstractions. She favors everyday subjects and situations that normally go unnoticed in order to reinterpret them with humor.
She is originally from Shanghai, China and has been living in the United States for the last seven years. She has BA degrees in Psychology and Studio Art from Indiana University Bloomington and studied animation for a year at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Now she focuses more on new media and recently has graduated from the MFA Computer Arts program at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
