Please excuse duplicate postings.

We are looking for someone to do a new curatorial project for Pixel Pops 2009. How it works is like this: Each year we pass the project onto another creative and willing curator around the globe. So far, we've been in the US twice and in Prague and Scotland.

As you can imagine, over the years each show has been presented in VERY different venues/forms. Last year the show was at a well known university Art Gallery/Museum with high-tech equipment used for the presentation (http://www.kam.uiuc.edu/).

In 2007 the show was carried around on a portable DVD player from ferry boat to plane and flown from island to island in the Orkneys with opening celebrations at each stop. (http://poppingpixels.org/index2007.asp )

In 2006 the exhibit was shown via projectors at a gallery in Prague (http://poppingpixels.org/index2006.asp ).

And, finally in 2005, the exhibit was shown at an artists run gallery (http://poppingpixels.org/index2005.asp) but contained interactive pieces so was shown on 3 separate computers with flat screens and user participation was encouraged.

Anything is game.

The curator's mission is to:

1.) Find and arrange the venue. It could be a gallery, an outdoor space, a university setting, an empty field and an array of cell phones, a bar and a pocket projector, etc...

2.) Find equipment to exhibit the show. Basically, whatever you can beg, borrow or steal...well maybe not steal.

3.) Curate the exhibit. We have private online jurying tools to make that part of the job easier

4.) Throw an opening:)

This is a non-paid position. The curator will be provided with online jurying tools, marketing materials and a lot of long distance support. We will set up and broadcast the Call For Submissions (based on the curator's input for theme, file types etc...), provide the online submission form system and disk space for all entries, and we will provide as much technical support as possible. Once the pieces have been chosen by the curator for the exhibit we download and burn to DVD (or appropriate format) and ship to curator/venue if need be.

Are you game? Visit http://poppingpixels.org/Curators.asp to fill out the online form.
