Have shown in one Bridges science art show in San Diego in conjunction with the JMM meeting in 2013. Also 4 local science & art exhibitions

My artwork grew out of a research project on the melodic and harmonic transformations certain types of musical scales undergo as the tuning of their constructive intervals, nominally major thirds (M) and perfect fifths (D), is varied within an octave.  The interval resolution is 2 cents (there are 100 cents in a semitone, 1200 in an octave) and the properties of the scales are evaluated at 360,000 points in the D x M plane. Various functions are then calculated on this data base and plotted.  The computer chooses the colors from a pre-set palette and assigns them as the values or categories of the functions are calculated or found. Hence there is a certain element of surprise in the results.
