Eleanor Gates-Stuart has a unique profile that extends a spectrum of roles. In August 2015, she became Full Professor in Techno Art at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Her PhD awarded in science & art with the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at the ANU, and associated with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
Eleanor's research in Science and Art is diverse and collaborative. Specialising in visual media communicating her artistic practice in new and innovative ways questioning and engaging the audience with art, science and technology. Working with major research organisations, museums, business and government, her scope of creativity and production is extensive and includes: interactive exhibits, content development, application of innovative materials, design, print, publication and film works. Decisive action in regards to timelines, media management, logistics, production and delivery, especially in coordinating multiple venues, international companies and multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborative Science Art research projects and commissions have international and national support with acknowledgment of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government and Australian Government. Eleanor's interests crossover arts, science, design, technology and communication. Having received numerous awards, grants, and commissions, Eleanor's international artistic profile and research includes roles: professor, visiting fellow, curator, exhibitor, director of media and science arts events. A regular contributor to numerous professional associations, collaborating, publishing and presenting papers: UK, USA, Taiwan & Australia.
To foster year-round engagement and dialogue within the digital, electronic, computational and media arts. Facilitate dynamic scholarship and creative programming within the ACM SIGGRAPH organization. Promote collaboration between artists and the larger computer graphics and interactive techniques community.
