Event Description

The theme of SIGGRAPH 2011 is Home.

This is not a marketing ploy, it is a philosophy.

Home is where the family gathers. We gather there even if we have different interests and different outlooks on life. It is a secure place where you feel comfortable, where you feel safe to explore and take risks, since you know you have the support of your family, and you know they won’t let you fail. It is the place where you look out for the greater good of your family.

Home is where you can be told you are on the right or wrong track and know that assessment is given with honesty. It is a place where you can gather and work out problems together (whether they are big or small). It is also a place where you can meet with the friends you have the most in common with. It’s possible that you might meet your friend’s friends, and find out that you have a lot in common with some of them, too.
